We are blessed to live in the great state of Texas. One of the many things to love about being a resident of Texas is the fact that (for now) we are very much a gun-friendly state. As of September 2021, if you are over 21 and meet the other legal requirements, you can carry a handgun either openly or concealed with no further permit requirements. The state still offers the License to Carry (formerly Concealed Handgun License/CHL), but is it necessary in today’s climate?

I’d argue yes (and not just because I offer the course, but) because knowledge is power!

Taking the licensing course allows you the opportunity to learn about the laws that govern carrying a firearm. Knowing where it is legal (and more importantly, where it is NOT legal) to carry is one of the most important tenets that one needs to learn. The course also covers great information regarding gun handling/safety, and the safe storage of firearms.

Another great knowledge block covered in the class is the application of de-escalation techniques. Everyone wins a fight that never occurs!

Taking a course from a knowledgeable instructor allows you to ask questions, pose hypotheticals, and do so in an environment where others may have the same questions! It’s a great opportunity to discuss guns, holsters, how to carry, and how to train.

While you don’t NEED a license to carry in Texas, you DO NEED to know how to do it responsibly. We can help!
